Just think of it this way- 10 animations output'ed at roughly $100 a pop equals your own deck. If you have the TBC IV, that'll give you even more things to do with your PAR. I've had "my" PAR here 2 weeks now, and use it for all kinds of stuff. It's great. BTW- I've heard of some Beta SP decks out for around $7k. (and they're the cheap ones.) $1k sounds great if you can get by with it. Another idea I had a while back was to put a PAR into a lunchbox computer. Get a slow 486 or so, and use it as the PAR server. Network it with your other computer(s), and dump your animation to the PAR. Then just take the portable PAR to wherever you need it. Much easier than taking your whole system, but it'd probably run you $1k or so for a basic setup. (watch the temperature though) That may be a good idea if you can get free Beta SP drive access, and if Beta would give you better results (in $, etc.) I haven't done it, but I believe it can be done. Just get one with 2 full length slots available. (and a good fan) Good luck. JNJ
