Yes. There are a few new things. The graphics.library has a new function,
WriteChunkyPixels, which is primarily intended for retargettable graphics, and
screens can use chunky pixels IF you have a device supporting it – this is why
cards like the Picasso ship with 3.1, they work better with it. There is a
screen attribute to minimize the interscreen gap. There are a few very small
optimizations and additions, but most additions are in the disk based libraries
and the Workbench itself. I could be a lot more specific, but I can assure you
– the only difference between using WB 3.1 with ROM 3.0 and WB 3.1 with ROM 3.1
is that the graphics can draw a little faster with the 3.1 ROM – but not
usually noticable.
Installing 3.1 Workbench on a computer with 3.0 ROM will give you all the
features of a 3.1 system.
