Hi,
parts of Berlin still have analog ??exchanges?? (Vermittlungsstellen, my
dictionary isn`t that good on such tech-words) while others have digital. We
have a digital since Jan. `94, fortunately because I got my ZyXEL sept. `93 and
pulse dialing with a modem isn`t that c00l. And it may be that our two analog
lines are kind of ISDN because if I take a look down into the cellar I see to
devices on the wall which call themselves `PCM-????` which should mean
`Pulsecodemodulation`. But all that hightech helps nothing if a call into some
regions goes through 40! years old exchanges!! (OK, there are few left).
>> I got a phone in Munich two years ago and it was a tone dial phone, but we
weren't told about any ISDN at all! <<
Telekomiker! Not to many of the guys there knew (know) much about such `modern`
things. I read about cases were Telekom offers things and you can`t convince
their employees that this service exists!
