Why I won't upgrade
Thom, true about the title of the post, but we don't get to change
the name of a thread to suit us here on Compuserve when replying to
an existing thread. I didn't start this thread; I merely replied to
it. For one thing, we here at M&M C.C. DID upgrade, so "Why I won't
upgrade" is inappropriate for THAT reason alone.
Agreed with you also on Windows '95. The really sad thing here,
though, isn't just that it is a stupid idea, but that it has already
been TRIED and FAILED and thus PROVEN TO BE a stupid idea independent
of your or my or the Microsoft Application Group's OPINIONS on the
matter. "Those who won't learn from history are condemned to repeat
it." Not that I would be all that broken up over it if Bill Gates
fell flat on his face and saw OS/2 Warp or (better yet) NeXTstep do
to Windows what Windows did to GEM and what MS-DOS did to CP/M
(which, in their day, were JUST as extensive in the industry as
Windows and MS-DOS are today!) . . .
