We recieved a FAX from Sonnet Technologies .about their new 50MHz Doubler 4000. In part it read: EASY TO INSTALL- Plugs into the 040 processor socket. Simply pull the 25MHz 040 and replace it with the Doubler 4000 accelerator. 100% COMPATIBLE- Uses standard 040 libraries. CACHE IS KEY- Utlizes the 040's large on-chip cache to free up the Sonnet .4000 to work semi-independantly of the Amiga memoty subsystem. In most instances, 85% of the time the cache contains the data and instructions for the Doubler 4000 to continue at full speed. MATH COPROCESSOR- Includes an on-chip math coprocessor that dramatically . up calculation intensive applications, such as rendering.
