Are you running under any version of windows? I didn't understand the DOS
window part.
Did you reconfig the "3ds vibcfg"? Should be ATI Mach 64 for all displays.
Since you have 2M, try 640×480 @ 16.7 mill. colors.
And, no, there isn't any difference in the cards except mem.
