Brian,
The "white flash" doesn't happen with Animator Studio or the Animator Studio
player, nor the older Autodesk Animation Player. It does happen on every flc
when using mplayer and other applications that can play flc's like PowerPoint,
Compel, MediaBlitz, ToolBook (1.5 & 3.0), NetToob, etc. I've reproduced the
problem by running mplayer with different flc's on Windows 3.1, Windows for
WorkGroups, and Windows 95. I don't know all of the exact video card models.
The 8 PCs I've tested with are all brand new Gateways, Compaqs, and Toshibas.
It happens in 256, 32000, 64000, and 16.7 million color modes on each machine.
One other note — when using mplayer, the flash only occurs the first time a
particular flc is played (if you bring up mplayer and load the flc, the flash
will occur the first time you press the play button; if you press play a second
time the flash will not occur; if you load a new flc and press play the flash
occurs again.
Thanks for taking a look at it.
Dan
P.S. It happens with fli's too. I may be mistaken but I think I started
experiencing this when the MCIAAP.DRV/AAVGA.DLL/AAPLAY.DLL package was updated
maybe a year or so ago. Prior to that I don't recall every seeing the problem.
