mapping can do ANY effect that I can imagine that PYTHON can do
Boy, I sure hate to be in this position of defending an IPAS I don't have (or
intend to buy), but as one who has extensively worked with the opacity
workaround for PYTHON, I can tell you it will NOT do what PYTHON says it will
do.
I have the complete writeup as to why opacity mapping bugs prevent it from
being used as advertised (in other words, it *should* work as you describe)
on-line here in one of the sections — search for SPOOL.ZIP and see — but the
bottom line is that the end of the opacity map is always solid, spoiling the
illusion, and it doesn't work properly with a black background (or is it a
solid background — I forget). There are workarounds, but they are not
elegant, and I suspect that if I really needed the effect I'd go ahead and buy
PYTHON.
