Greg Did you ever see the video I made for the launch of Elite … I wish I still had a copy. Acorn do indeed make the Archimedes(s) they are based on the ARM risc chip which they designed themselves. You will also find the ARM in many odd places, Apple PDAs f'rinstance. They got taken over by Olivetti a few months before I left. I think that know they are fairly autonomous again. The archimedes could be a great machine but they don't have the resources to take on SG and don't ever seem to have really focused on the graphics market, except at a low level. Given the emphasis on the education market I suppose this is fair enough. We have an archie for tele-prompting, just the original lo-spec integer ARM chip it runs soft scrolling, anti-aliased, prompting with good fast forward and reverse from a BASIC program – interpreted BASIC ! Grahame I keep thinking about getting Elite for the PC but it just couldn't be as good.
