#We're not alone
<<<My remarks about Gates were directed at the fact that I was contacting CIS
via Windows95 via TAPCIS. And not using Microsofts new Board. Just my
unsuccessful attempt at humor. (g)>>>
Not so unsuccessful, Fred. <G> I don't think Microsoft Network is going to
corner the market just yet. The hype is loud, but CIS and some of the others
are very established.
Where are you located? I can't believe CIS hasn't reached the four corners of
the globe yet. Especially since they are now dropping the rates.
How "automatic" is Tapcis?? If it does all the following steps with just me
having to click the Wincim icon, then I should switch to Tapcis.
I haven't really explored the finer features of Wincim, but I can log on and
off pretty quickly. I hit the Favorite Places icon for AmigaVendor. As soon as
I'm in, I go to Messages and Retrieve Marked (with Disconnect after Download
selected). The Newtek area stays checked between sessions.
I can do it in less than 5 minutes – if I don't check for any new files in the
Library. Wincim also has an offline mail reader/writer. That's what I'm
working in now.
I'm not trying to sell you on Wincim, to each his own. In fact yours sounds
better. I'm just accustomed to the Windows interface – never liked DOS much.
There's a new Win95 version of Wincim on the way, and supposedly you can use
Win95's Smart Agent to handle all the chores for you – like downloading
messages and threads at a certain time of the day, etc. Jim Beck has Smart
Agent doing all his internet searching using GNN internet software.
GoodLuck
