Hi Barry, According to Exabyte, 8505's ship with compression turned on. I am getting the code necessary to turn them off with software, once and for all. If you get the 8500's, or find an old 8200, they don't have compression so they're not a problem. I'll post the decompression info here as soon as I get it. Maybe it's something NewTek should incorporate in the backup.rexx, or just create a short arexx script for Exabyte users.
