Sounds like we spend a lot of time doing the same things. Here's a couple more tips from over the years. 1) Use materials as named face/selections. The material doesn't need to be different, just has a different name. Working on a head you'd create materials of an appropriate name (nose, ear, cheeks etc). Especially useful after booleans, you recall the selection with surface/material/show. 2) To speed up hold/fetch when working on an object in a large scene just select only the object you are working on and use save selected. This can be a lot faster than hold/fetch and allows incremental saves and recovery. bye for now.
