Hi Charles
I'm sure my story is NOT typical but I have been trying to get a respnse
from Diamond for some time in their area here and so have a lot of
people about a lot of Diamond cards by the looks of things. Try
scanning the message areas in GO DMNDONLINE.
I bought a Diamond Stealth 64 about 10 months ago and made the store
salesman open the package to prove it worked with OS/2. According to the
manuals it did.. There was even software droivers for it.
Needless to say it didn't even install. Eventually I had to write to Diamond
(I'm in the UK) to get any help I could. They were quite quick to supply
drivers (From Amsterdam) but they dont work at all in True colour
at 800×600 and throw flic data all over the screen at 640×480. I still cant
use truecolour under OS/2 with this card.
Under Windoze it's a great card. No complaints at all. Unfortunately I'm not
prepared to run Microsoft OS/s any more.
Thats a Diamond Stealth 64 DRAM 2Mb… Needless to say it runs (for example 3D
studio fine under OS/2 but just dont try swapping it out to another task, only
works when it feels like it.) Under Dos 3DS works fine.
Hope that's some help… I do reccomend GO DMNDONLINE to get a feel for their
other cards.
