>>As some one who keeps making Star Trek stills, I understand the fine line
bit, many of the Shareware forums here have very good Doc's on copyright etc
on Shareware products, perhaps they could help?<<
It's not just the Star Wars thing… the big problem with rights for an on-line
graphics-oriented system is that you have to hope that your uploaders and your
sources are not posting copyrighted material. This may be as small as someone
who got a mesh from a friend as a favor and then posted it for the heck of it.
One year later it's on Avalon, etc., and the original guy finds out and he's
mad because he never intended for the mesh to be PD. Similarly, I have to guard
against jokers who might modify and re-distribute Viewpoint or Acuris products,
etc. That's the main problem for me, for doing a CD with files I got from
non-confirmable sources.
>>What sort of Meshes do you make, are you doing a sort of Viewpoint thing,
you may have had a big campaign about this, but as I'm in the UK I'll never
have heard LOL, Will my Dealership in the UK have a list of your Products?<<
My on-line service presently is just a source of good files via long distance
modeming. When the CD comes out, we'll definitely post the news. If you can
send an address for my files, I'll be sure to mail you directly on any product
news. The IPAS we are completing – "Schools, Flocks, and Herds" is a separate
product you may be interested in. Let me know if you'd like some mail or would
be interested in a UK-based dealership.
Thanks,
Jim
