Just because you use an Amiga doesn't mean you have to be so paranoid <grin>! Simply make sure the CDROM drive you purchase has a true SCSI interface and not one of those CLONE contortions that require a dedicated interface board. I've been operating a Toshiba 3201 CDROM drive on my A3000 for a LONG time now without any problems at all and suspect the 3401 will work just as well if not mucho faster. One thing you might not be aware of when you purchase your CDROM is that you are going to need a CDROM filesystem to access your discs. There are commercial and freely distributable varieties floating around and I have had very good experiences with Xetec's CDx (commercial), AmiCDROM by Frank Munkert (freely distributable), and AmiCDFileSystem by Nicola Salmoria (freely distributable).
