Hallo Gary, we german people are too far away from all the news-pulse beating around the 3D-World (Siggraph, features, upgrades [never seen the upgrade R4c1] etc.); living on an island? So I remember about a question send to you, asked a long time ago: >>what's the currently best and quickest Graphiccard with 3DS Vibrant-Support ? <<. I want a new Hardware: P5-133, 64MB RAM and which PCI-VGA may I use? Now, some times ago a wishlist for R5 is grown. Hope it's not to late (when will it be available?). All the main update features in R4 are written as plug-in modules, why don't you investigate some time for the product itself? There are many possiblilities to make 3DS easier and faster – I'm not the programmer, but I have enough knowledge to assert so: 1. Material Editor: insert a feature for sorting and printing the whole material list as shown in the materiel-slection-window with it's propertylist. 2. Redraw: faster redraw when a "nothing has changed bit" is valid after return from a one-view-window to a multi-view – can be realized with a 2nd./3rd. Screen buffer, maybe. 3. Autosave: Save, or ask for save the MLI file, if materials added or changed in a session if a put to .MLI-lib. is made but the file is not saved on exit 4. Hold: Install more Hold-levels saved in temp-files on disk in .3DS-fileformat (maybe with DATE-TIME.TMP fiel) – Fetch should be ask for the levelfile. Is good for restoring a drwaingversion after a systemcrash when you made a hold but don't save the work to a .3DS-file. 5. Layers: Install a Layertechnique which allow to select vertex and faces that lie in succession, by install a function that cuts an object into viewing-layers. Thanks, spending your time an ear Regards Willy
