HI, I am trying to hook up a HP500C via the serial port but I have been completely unsuccessful. Naturally, I set printer prefs to serial, set the serial prefs to match the printer and checked that the connection were ok. If I print from Turbotext I get a "Object is is Use" message. If I print from the CLI (ie. COPY [FILENAME] TO SER: OR TO PRT: or using the print command) it will be busy for a few moments but nothing will happen. Printing from other applications also results in nothing. I have used XOper to see if the Printer.Device is used and it is however the printer has no indication that it is receiving data. I have also tried by booting off of the original WB floppies to make sure there isn't a s/w conflict or sum'thin'. I tried different serial settings and cables but to no avail. It would seem to me that it isn't possible to print to the serial port even though the printer prefs supports it. What am I doing wrong? Please help if you have any ideas.
