I think you create a message with the words subscribe 3dstudio and you just send it to majordomo@autodesk.com It might require you to add your name at the end. It'll either kick back a message telling you you're subscribed, or it'll kick back a message telling you how messed up you are with archaic instructions for correcting yourself.
