I am trying to determine if it makes any financial sense right now to buy a
system with dual pentium capabilities. These type of systems are pretty pricy
right now and what I would like to know is if MAX will see the type of speed
increases that are important to me. First, if the second processor is added
will it increase my speed if I am doing core functions modeling, rendering,
real time previews etc. or is the second processor important only if you are
doing multitasking type of functions rendering in the background while
modeling? I currently have a 486/DX4 with 64mb of ram and perhaps it makes more
sence for me to get let's say a Pentium 100mhz and spend the extra dollars on
ram and use my 486 as a render station? Second, if anybody out there knows of a
economical dual pentium capable system pease let me know. I saw the Compudyne
system at Siggraph but I cannot get any information on it. Is it possible that
a consumer can get one? Thank you for any type of help you can give me
regarding this matter.
By the way, thanks in advance for the MAX.
Sincerely,
Kyle
