John, Unless you _need_ the expandability afforded by the A2000 slots….then keep your A1000. In a year and a half…the A2000 will be selling for $1500 or so, your A1000 should still be worth $500 or so. With that in mind, you can sell your A1000, buy an A2000 for $1000 and get the same "value" you'd get now with the trade-in deal today. You'd also "save" your budget for now. The A1000 and A2000 are basicaly identical. As you've noted, the major difference is the internal slots. Yes, hardware add-ons for the A2000 _may_ end up being cheaper than equivalent devices for the A1000 simply because they are designed to go inside the A2000 and thus wouldn't need a possible external power supply. However… don't lose sight of the fact that ASDG will be introducing the 2000-1 in a bit and it will give you the exact same expansion slot capability for your A1000, so that's always another route to take.
