Those who said no way to supersonic BEFORE it was achieved included many
respected scientists… and their calculations about the effects of travelling
at those rates. I think the current situation is very similar. We will see what
happens when we get some kind of reasonable energy source, like a fusion
reactor, or possibly some total conversion scheme no one's though up yet.
