#L200P vs L300/RIP-2
The company I work for is considering upgrading thier Linotronic hardware. They
currently have a Linotronic L300/RIP-1 combination and are considering one of
the following two options:
1) Dump the L300/RIP-1 system and purchase the L200P
2) Keep the L300 imagesetter and upgrade to a RIP-2
I personally feel the L300/RIP-2 combination would be the better choice because
of the greater capabilities in handling complex documents in addition to having
higher resolutions.
I am pitted against a salesman who believes anything new (L200P) must be the
greatest thing to date. The L200P is twice as fast as our current hardware, but
would it be better than a L300/RIP-2 system?
