Richard, Since 1200 and 2400 both cost the same here, then the question really becomes which is better, 300 or 2400 baud….almost anyone can read faster than 300 baud and if you capture messages and read them off line, then you can get 8 times the information at 2400 baud than you can at 300 baud. The same goes for leaving messages, if you compose them off line and upload them…then you can upload 8 times the information in the same amount of time. Since 2400 (1200) baud only costs about twice what 300 baud access costs…you can do 4 times as much for the same amount of money…or you can do the same amount of stuff for 1/4 the cost. Remember..you save the most money by capturing the messages and reading them off line, and composing any replies or new messages you want off line and uploading them as ASCII dumps. In any event, a 2400 baud modem will pay for itself in a very short time period…get one, you won't be sorry. Don
