If you can afford it, get the 2500. Some games will not work with the 68020
chip running, but you can reboot, and select 68000 mode for those games.
Even though you are buying the Amiga for games (and a 500 would do just fine),
the 2500 is much faster, much more powerful, expandable, will probably be able
to run UNIX (with some add-ons) within the next six months or so, and will let
you get into a whole lot more than just games later on (like creating your own
animations — doing incredible things with sound -doing your own video titling
— getting you a head start on multitasking -giving you a multi-media
workstation NOW that both Mac and IBM hope to emulate "sometime soon").
OTOH — if the price of the 2500 puts you off, get a 500 or 2000. BUT make
sure you have either two floppies (or 1 floppy and an HD) AND at least 1
megabite of ram (standard on 2000, option for an extra $150 or so on the 500).
