#quality type/art
Here Here! (Hear Hear! ?) I'm so pleased to see messages from "typophiles" out
there on the grid. Having spent some time in advertising myself, I do believe
that, on a certain level of subconsciousness, people to "recognize" quality
type (and quality photography, design, etc). More certainly, people in the
industry (including many a client) know it when they see it (though they may
not know anything about how to "make" it), and, to a small degree, those people
(the clients) are the audience/market for the ads. Reminds me of the old debate
in school: is an ad "good" – given that it's clever, well conceived, well
written and art directed – if it doesn't sell any products?
