Tom,
First of all – what terminal program are you using, how many drives do you
have, and how much memory? This will help us to tell you how to download the
files.
The files in our libraries are either ARCed, ZOOed, or LZHed. All of these are
methods of compressing the data in the files, and of collecting all the files
needed for a particular program into one single download. It is tremendously
helpful, because you have a shorter download and because you are sure to get
everything that belongs with the program all in one file.
In Lib1 of AmigaTech, there is a new help program called ARCHLP.EXE. It is an
interactive tutorial on the use of all of these unarcing programs, and you can
download it as is and run it. Do remember that it must be downloaded as a
binary file!
If you need more help, please ask. We all like to help when we can, perhaps as
a small repayment for all the help WE got when we were beginners.
