The job is as follows:
Imprints, one of Washington, DC's premier Macintosh service bureaus, is in need
of a General Manager to oversee operation of business. This person will be
responsible for overall management of daily operations, including marketing,
personnel, production and quality assurance. Staff includes Production Manager,
two Production Assistants, Graphic Designer, Receptionist, and three Account
and Marketing reps. Office is private and includes complete 24-bit Mac IIcx
workstation. Individual must have in-depth understanding of Macintosh system,
software, hardware and printing. "Enthusiast" is not strong enough description,
"Guru" is more appropriate. Knowledge of basic postscript (ie reading APD's and
error messages) and leadership and client relations skills is assumed.
Experience with high-end color systems (Scitex, Hell, etc) a plus.
Salary in $40K-$50K range plus profit sharing can easily bring annual income to
over $80K. Benefits include health insurance and two weeks vacation. Position
is open immediately.
Our equipment includes a wide range of postscript output devices, including
AGFA-CG 9600-PS, AGFA-Matrix Chromascript with QCR-Z film recorder, Du Pont
4CAST continuous tone color printer, and QMS colorscripts. (Optronics
ColorSetter 2000 due November 1). Other equipment includes two Matrix
SlideWriters, six Mac IIcx color workstations, Truvel color scanner, complete
Adobe/Casady type libraries, (basically) all Mac software, two Canon Color
Copiers, and duplicating and bindery equipment. We have a clean and attractive
professional workspace, and a no-smoking policy. Our relationship with our
sister company (Advanced Laser Graphics, a publishing systems VAR) assures a
constant variety of new and interesting equipment.
