Illustrator deficiency
First of I'd like to thank you for producing an outstanding tool for newspaper
artists. Now, while you are most surely working on an improved version of
Illustrator I am hoping that you have already thought of the "improvements" I
am suggesting and that you may disregard this "wish List." 1. PLEASE let me
draw and modify art elements in Preview mode. 2. PLEASE let me change control
points from straight to curved or vica versa. 3. PLEASE let me add/delete
control points. (MacDraw II lets me do all of these and it speeds up my drawing
time considerably.) 4. PLEASE let me mix typefaces, sizes, leading, kerning,
expansion/compression all in the same block of text. (Like Quark) 5. PLEASE let
me accomplish gradations quickly and in one step (menu item like Freehand) 6.
PLEASE let me specify dimensions for boxes in picas instead of points (Pet
peeve) 7. PLEASE let me trace Tiff and Pict images. 8. PLEASE let me move
objects one layer at a time with a simple keyboard command. (I love MacDraw II
for this) 8. PLEASE keep on being the most precise drawing tool that an artist
can wield. Thank you Adobe. I can't wait for your new release. Sincerely, Robb
Montgomery, Editorial artist intern, Fort Lauderdale News/Sun-Sentinel P.S. If
the new illustrator can do all this I'm sure more newspaper artists will
abandon MacDraw for good.
