Ethan, flicker fixer automatically line doubles non-interlaced modes. This
eliminates visible scan lines and permits the use of VGA monitors which will
only operate at 31.5 KHz. There are some unique VGA monitors like the Zenith
ZCM-1490 flat screen or the Seiko CM-1430 which uses a very fine pitch
Trinitron tube. If you are not using a flicker fixer, a multisync is a better
choice. The only new mode which might be of interest is the 1280 x 200/400. In
my opinion, this is unlikely to find many applications outside of video. Peter.
