Two things I can think of can cause that (other than the disk drive
really being bad).
1. BridgeBoard not properly seated.
2. The drive is "stuck" on track 0 or less.
The fixes:
1. Reseat the BB.
2. Get to the back of the disk drive while the power is OFF. From the
rear…push on the head to move it forward (towards the front of the drive).
Do this GENTLY!!
