FAX posted exactly as we received it:
Dear AmiEXPO Exhibitor:
We are pleased to announce that AmiEXPO-California is ON SCHEDULE for this
weekend, October 20-22, at the Santa Clara Convention Center and DoubleTree
Hotel.
We have been in telephone contact with both the hotel and officials from
the City of Santa Clara. They inform us that damage was minimal.
Apparently, limited to cracks and pictures falling from walls. The
Convention Center and Hotel have been inspected are [sic] have been
certified as being safe for use. All electrical power, water services and
sewage are fully operational in Santa Clara and the South Bay Area.
As of this time, San Jose International Airport is fully operational, as
well as Oakland International Airport. We have received reports that San
Francisco International Airport will re-open at 6:00AM Pacific Standard
Time today. If you are arriving today or tommorrow, you should anticipate
minor delays due to congestion.
Our sources in California have also informed us that all major highways and
interstates are fully functioning in the Santa Clara and San Jose Areas.
We anticipate a very good show this weekend. If we may be of any assistance
