Printing
what you want is a product call Print and Wear. I used to buy it from a
local dealer, but they stopped carrying it. However, Creative Computer over
in CA carries it (mail order). Print & Wear is a special paper that seems
to be coated with a pine-pitch derivative (at least by smell..). You print
on it (an Epson works, but I use an Okimate20 myself). Cost is about 16$
for a pack of 10 sheets. Thats kind of expensive, but then again I can get
20-25$ a shirt for custom stuff. The results range from OK to spectacular.
You need to use a T that has a high polyester content for best results. In
other words, you can use the complete graphics capability of your Amiga to
do peronalized, custom T shirts. With a Framegrabber and a color TV camera,
you can set up a system that is quite comparable to the setups they use in
the malls. The big expense would be a suitable printer… Ink jets don't
work, so for color you would need a thermal printer. The Oki is pretty slow
and not that attractive, but is cheap. If you were setting up a business I
would probably go with a Tektronix 4693D, but thats 8000$.
