I've been using CrossDOS for several weeks now with no problems. It seems to integrate well into the Amiga. What I like about it is that I can set up my external 3.5" as DF1: for AmigaDOS disks and as MF1: (for example) for MS-DOS disks at the same time (which says as much for the design of the Amiga system software as it does for CrossDOS). When I pop an Amiga-DOS disk into the drive, DF1: recognizes it, but MF1: says it is unreadable; when I pop in an MS-DOS disk, DF1: says it is unreadable, but MF1: recognizes it. No effort on my part, other than specifying the DF1: or MF1: device as part of the filename. All of the AmigaDOS commands that I have tried (e.g., dir, list, copy, info, delete, etc.) work fine with the MS-DOS device. I also use TxEd+ quite often for editing MS-DOS files (MUCH better than ANYTHING I've found for the PC). Since CrossDOS provides the device handler for the MS-DOS device, it would seem that any program which follows the rules in accessing the disk should work. CrossDOS also provides utilities for formatting and copying MS-DOS disks (I've used the format utility, but not the disk copy). So, CrossDOS is worth checking out. I don't have any experience with DOS-2-DOS (I came across CrossDOS in a local store while looking for DOS-2-DOS, which wasn't on the shelf).
