A 68010 at 7MHz gives an average of 1.2 (times the speed of a 'stock'
machine). A 68000 at 14MHz would give you about 1.7. Also, a 68000 should
yield no compatability problems beyond that floppy timing problem
(experienced with cheaper drive mechs. which can be fixed with a STEP-RATE
utility); As for the '010 itself, I've had no problems with the one I have.
However, I'd love to be able to combine the 68010's efficiency with the
14MHz speed. That should give you a throughput well over 2.
