I am a longtime owner and user of the A1000, but am now seriously considering an A3000 or even an A2000. However, I have some very serious questions about the capabilities of the A3000 and whether it will fit my needs better than a A2000 or IBM-compatible clone. I would also like anyone's opinion on the subject of running both MS-DOS and AmigaDos together as well as any suggestions or problems users might have experienced in the past using this type of system. Also interested in any configurations now being used by both A2000 and especially A3000 owners using the dual operating system with either a 286 or 386 bridgeboard on their machine. Please excuse my lack of knowledge on some these more technical aspects of the Amiga 2000 hardware as well as software, for I have been using an A1000 for so long that I've forgotten most of the details. 1. Does the A3000 work properly with a 386 (such as the PC Elevator board) or even a 286 bridgeboard made by Commodore the way they would on an A2000? Does Commodore plan on making a 386-based bb in the near future or are we stuck at the 286 level for awhile? I've heard that neither board works as of yet with the A3000 computer for whatever reason I'm not sure. 2. Does AmigaDos 1.3/2.0 work with MS-DOS files on the same hard drive (in different directories I imagine) or is a separate drive necessary altogether? 3. Is memory shared by the two operating systems or are 2 megs, for example, needed in conjunction with a 286/386 bridgeboard in addition to Amiga chip & fast memory? Assuming they are run one at a time. 4. Can AmigaDos 1.3/2.0 run at the same time as MS-DOS without problem? Say, run MS-DOS in a window of AmigaDos? 5. What previously written software for AmigaDos 1.2/1.3 work on AmigaDos 2.0? Thanks for all your help! Alex
