Hi Robert,
You have several options here. 1. You could make what you wanted to be
restored to be AutoRedraw = TRUE. 2. You could do as suggested a couple of
messages before using the CreateCompatibleDC API call. Either way, your
background will be stored in a "persistent bitmap", where the second one,
you define the persisitent bitmap and circumvent the speed issue of
AutoRedraw = TRUE.
