You find them in "hack" computer stores or electronics surplus stores
($1 each type deal). They vary in size between 1" and 4". You should
look for anything that will fit inside your computer and it must be
12V (though you could use 110V I wouldn't advise). Just use a spare
drive power cable to drive it. While at the electronic store, you
could also get an oversized heat sink (an aluminum extruded comb) and
glue it with heat transfer glue on your hard disk. Note that my
computers are "ON" since last May (when I moved over here) and I
haven't ever had any of these problems (albeit it's a bit cooler than
most places).
