John,
About Amiga BASIC… what exactly was Microsoft's great sin? that it wasn't
020/030/040 compatible? Geez, it was written before those processors
existed. The Amiga product manager was responsible for specs. C= probably
paid a flat fee plus royalties to Microsoft for the product. C= probably
could have paid to have it upgraded and they decided against it. In my
book, the AmigaVision swap for AmigaBasic in some model configurations
makes sense. I doubt if many new users were hungering to do Basic language
programming anyhow. When was the last time you saw a Basic language
uploaded on CompuServe for the Amiga?
About Microsoft Works… I think Bill Gates and Company would turn out a
superb version of their program for the Amiga. It and Quicken packaged
with an A500DS would go along way toward having greater acceptance in the
home market.

P.S. My wife just delivered a beautiful baby girl named Lauren Marie. Came
into the world on Monday at 16:59. Seven pounds, fourteen and a half
ounces. She's our first and she's COOLER then HAM-E and a ULowell Board.
[Ben, don't even to try to counterpoint me on that one. :<)]
