Sure and if I write a K&R compatible program in C, it will compile on almost any machine. 🙂 But the majority of programs I have run into; especially those with a BSD hertiage takes advantage of the better enivronment provided with BSD. I had the pleasure of porting a program several years ago from a BSD system to our wonderful (pig!) 3B2 running UNIX System Release 3. Do I need to go on? 🙂 Needless to say, System V Release 4 comes a long way to making life better. -mark= – via the Whapster!
