There was a comment earlier in this forum from a guy in the UK about 800
numbers — on behalf of all of us who are not in North America, could I
please add my plea for alternative numbers which we can reach? I live in
Hong Kong and it is _really_ frustrating to daily come across both
advertisements and CIS threads where _only_ 800 numbers are listed. I
appreciate their value in the US/Canada, and use them myself when there.
But when I'm here and you or other companies list an 800 number only, you
have just cut off me and every other potential overseas client!
In an ideal (for us overseas) world, you guys would list your 800
number together with a regular voice number and a fax number (we use faxes
here like you guys use the 'phone … if you have ever seen a Chinese
typewriter, you'll know why it is quicker to handwrite your message and fax
it …).
Hope this helps … all of you who use 800 numbers only are losing
business ….
