Wendell, Microsoft never talks about products or updates until they are ready to ship, so don't expect an answer from the sysop! In the meantime, my company (MicroHelp) has addressed part of what you asked about – we provide replacements for PLAY, MK?, CV?, etc. The graphics GET/PUT statements aren't practical in the VB environment. Instead, you work with graphics using bitmaps and icons. Unless you have some very special needs, I suspect VB will do what you need in its current incarnation. Re easier access to Windows features – again, my company addresses many of the more useful Windows services either via "custom controls" or assembly language routines.
