.TGA File Problems
Charles,
What programs won't read the .TGA file, or experience banding? 3D
Studio produces a valid 24-bit or 32-bit .TGA file. Are your applications
displaying in fewer colors (such as a Targa 16, or worse, 8-bit VGA)? When
rendering to a 16-bit Targa display, 3D Studio randomly dithers to present
a better image, but still saves a full 24-bit file. In these instances, I
View File with 3D Studio on the Targa 16, Quit, then enter a Targa
application that does not clear the screen, change resolutions or set a
different color depth (TIPS, for example). Saving from TIPS, I get a
nicely dithered 16-bit .TGA.
