Hello Don, Your question about the Editizer is a good one. For someone who doesn't need an EDL or the ability to import/export between industry standard systems, doesn't need an integrated tape logging system, and doesn't need to control external switchers, audio mixers, and audio decks, the FAST VM Lite may be a good buy. The Editizer provides those features and capabilities in an easy to use package at an affordable price. One customer likes the ability he has with the Editizer to take his Panasonic switcher into the field for live productions and also use the same switcher back in the editing studio. Other customers are using similar cost-saving strategies with top quality equipment from Pinnacle, Alesis, Mackie, and others. Longer range strategic planning has become the key for professionals on tight budgets and the Editizer has permitted tremendous savings over the entire production cycle. Like the ability to do a rough cut that will be auto-assembled at a higher end house–most professionals need that capability and you can't do that with a VM Lite. If they weren't aware of the need when they bought the system, they will eventually run into it. Dealers are hearing back from many who have purchased such solutions and later hit the limitations. So, to be complete in our comments about "the best buy" in a video editing system, we must take into consideration the full range of needs that most professionals have in producing the final product. It won't necessarily always be done on one system and the system components won't necessarily be used only for editing. Open systems provide greater flexibility and adaptability and ultimately save more money for most users–but then, I guess that's a biased statement because most of the users I talk with are using our product. VM Lite and Editizer 3.0 are excellent products serving the particular needs of each user in different ways. TAO is always happy to talk about its products and unique features. We are proud that the Editizer has been embraced by so many people here in the USA and we are proud to now be carrying our critically acclaimed products into Europe and other PAL markets. Feel free to call me at 800-TAO-EDIT (800-826-3348) if you'd like to chat–or we can carry on via E-mail. By the way–thank you for overseeing this wonderful forum. We certainly appreciate your efforts and we have heard many positive comments from users. Best regards, Paul McVicker TAO Media Systems
