#AdIDE Drive
With the AdIDE/40 kit in a 500, you need a "third height" drive (like the
quantum LPS drives). A regular half height 3.5" drive won't fit.
There probably is a limit on size, but I doubt the drive is made, or at
least reasonably priced. You can put lots of megabytes in there.
Yes, you can disconnect the external floppy and things will work fine. You
will have a "DF0:BAD" on the workbench, but that is it.
