When you set up a DDE hot link in applications like EXCEL or 123Windows, you are prompted with the names of currently selected field names in applications that are also running. IE, if I have a form running in Visual Basic, with a field named TEXT1 highlighted and I select a field in 123w and chose to hot link it to another field, 123w will automatically prompt me with the TOPIC and ITEM (TEXT1) name. I do not know whether 123w uses global atoms exclusively, or whether 123w uses a system topic to determine the currently highlighted item thanks for your efforts on my behalf….you are a true guru… ps I have 123w DDE links to VB working well…its alot more primitive than excel, and will UAE if you close windows with DDE taking place.
