#How to CG with PC?
OK, call me old fashioned. We do a lot of linear editing in SVHS and Beta,
using an MX-50 for effects and an Amiga with Supergen and Broadcast Titler for
CG.
Someday, my Amiga may break down, and the thought occurred to me that we better
have a back up. Is now a good time to switch to a PC platform for CG purposes?
We'll stay with the MX-50 for effects.
My question is: what PC genlock and software would give us SHVS & Composite in
and out, and equal or better quality than we have now?
We do simple overlays, and text over backgrounds. We do need a manual fade,
and our budget would be $700 – 1200, plus the PC. It might be nice to overlay
clipart or scanned in logos down the road.
Can we expect similar quality from PC's, or should I keep hoping that the Amiga
keeps runnin'?
