Kelly; The A3070 is a pretty nice unit. It is fan cooled (very quiet, I can't tell when it is not on). It's appearence matches the 3000 very well. It has the 25 pin SCSI cable/connector and has the pass-through connecting WITH THE 25 PIN EXTERNAL TERMINATOR. Thus, there is no opening the box to remove or install termination pack to chain additional stuff — about time! I don't think that it will work with the 2090A but you might want to look at the docs with programs like bintap to see what may or may not work. I don't have a 2090 in any of my machines anymore. The bintape docs that I just looked at say that bintape will work with a 2090A if the disk drive is an ST-506. I suspect that you could not add a SCSI drive to your controller if you wanted to have the tape unit. Unfortunately, the docs do not indicate if the A3070 will work or not. I strongly suspect that the A3070 will work but you must still use the C= specified tape carts in the drive. Basically the A3070 looks for the proper tape and will not work unless the 150 Meg carts are used. I believe that there are probably cheaper solutions than C= A3070.
