$1000 IS much too much for a game or entertainment machine which is
why the price has now dropped below $700 for both CDTV & CD-I. In fact, I
doubt that sales will take off for either one until the price drops to the
$300 – $400 range. Is that still too much for a game machine? Super
Ninento sells for $200.
I have a CD-Rom drive attached to my 3000 so I'm familiar with the
price of software. Actually the price is comparable to the price of
computer games, $30-$50. I picked up the Time Table of Science, a great
product, for $40, IMHO a bargain.
