Gerard,
I'm really not a controversial guy. I'm not comfortable with all
this attention. I just don't want to count CDTV out just yet.
CDTV & CD-I are essentially entertainment devices. What entertains
kids & adults the most on this type of unit?.. GAMES!!! How many
encyclopedias & references books of this type does a household need?
Besides what is the biggest seller for that great office appliance, the
computer?…. GAMES!!!!
My reason for not counting CDTV out just yet is the bigger user base
here & in Europe when one counts the Amiga. A developer for CD-I will only
have an initial user base of thousands of machines while an Amiga/CDTV
developer has a user base in the millions. This will become even more
apparent when CBM offers its CD-Rom drive for the Amiga line. There are
already letters in the European rags asking about availability of the
drives.
