yes, the "deep content" titles like encyclopedias would seem to be the best use of a CDROM. but then why hasnt Phillips encouraged the development of such things? There are only two or three titles for CD-I that are not games and no encyclopedia on the near horizon (both sides botched the negotiations time and again) Given that CD-I titles have to go thru the rediculus AIM/PIM color book development cycle and management, it takes an incredibly long time to get one implemented. CDTV titles are rather quick to implement. I did Grolier's in 3 months from date of contract signing. Of course, the shell and database were already written for the other X titles. just a few mods, new screens & interactive logic and vola! Other CDTV developers will get these tools soon, which should help standardize the UI. Jerry Isdale
